Basix101
I have a live Prestashop site with customer data that needs to be protected. I also need to allow a programmer into my site to make changes. Can anyone recommend the permissions that a programmer would need to work in my site? What permissions should not be allowed to protect customer confidentiality? I think this will be useful to others in the future. Thnxs...
NemoPS
Once a programmer has access to the database (and it's needed, almost every time), there is no way to deny that. You can try forbdding him access to the ps_customer and ps_address tables manually from cpanel by creating a new user to access with. As for the back office hide the whole customer section.... as well as orders. In the end, it would be better to find someone you ca trust
bellini13
in a real business world scenario, a developer would never have access to a production store. You would provide a test store that is a duplicate of your website, and you would remove any customer specific or sensitive information. Allow the developer to program and apply changes to the test store, and then you would promote these changes to your production store.
