lateral
Hi guys I'm going to be "flicking the switch" soon to have my shop go "live". Is there some sort of checklist that I could read to make sure that I have done what it required as far as configuration options etc (SEO, metatags etc)??? Paulito
Hello Afraid to say that the SEO part will keep you working as long as the site is live, (ever changing algorithms) As for "Meta tags", you do not need those anymore, in fact, search engines will penalize you if you use them Paul
lateral
Hi Paul, Are there other things I need to consider????
Paulito
Hello Their are probably too many things to consider, building your website is the easiest part of a ecommerce website, getting visitors and turning them into happy customers is the hard bit. 1. A website that is attractive to your visitors (age range, gender, orientation, status etc) 2. Easy to navigate 3. Advertising 4. Social media 5. Backlinks 6. Easy checkouts 7. Great text 8. Great images 9. Responsive (latest versions of Prestashop are) 10. Speed 11. Sales/discounts/free delivery etc 12. Reviews This little list is not in any particular order, just a few things I thought of, any and every forum member will be able to add the things that they find a must I think the best thing for you to do is ask GOOGLE, if you do what google wants you will be halfway there Paul
lateral
Thanks for the followup Paul, I was more thinking along the lines of specifically Prestashop backend related.: 1. Ensure that all contact details including emails are correct 2. turn on CACHING 3. Regenerate images 4. Update tags and meta title and descriptions 5. take complete backup of entire site 6.etc etc etc
Paulito
Hekko OK then, well you have mentioned some, personally, i think that it would be better to go live live. Put your site on the "Feed Back On My Store" forum for a few days to get other members views It is very difficult to give you an answer without seeing your site It is also very easy for you to "not see the wood for the trees" My opinion anyway Paul Edited September 21, 2014 by Paulito (see edit history)
