(SOLVED) Very long loading time

All of a sudden my site started loading very very very slow. It takes 30+ seconds to load the front office.
Once in a while the site doesn't even load and i get this error: "Link to database cannot be established.".

I talked to the host's tech support and they say it's something related to the code i have.

But i just installed a fresh copy of PrestaShop 1.2.5 in a folder called "test", with a new Database for it.
The fresh copy loads the same as the old one, in a very very long time.

What should i do?

I am having the same problem recently, it is either very slow or gives the same error.

What host do you use? I am using Fasthosts on a windows server. I am changing it to Linux soon, I hope this will improve it.

Please tell me if you find any solutions in the meantime!

I'm using Hostgator. The problem was generated by another user from the shared hosting account (which i'm using). The guys from the tech support stopped that guy's scripts and the server and my site worked properly since. You should talk to the host's tech support, they should be able to fix this for you.

My loading times are much faster after moving to linux hosting!
