mkli73
Hello all my name is Marina I am a web designer and decided to get involved with prestshop in order to start creating my own eshop. So I am completely begginer. I am trying in installing a new module in my prestashop, either a new one that I have created or a free ready made template and I am recieving the following message "Bad configuration file" I have read a number of forums posts and have done what they said but no difference, I have also cleared the cache. I have the PrestaShop™ 1.6.0.9 version. I will appreciate your help as if I do not solve this issue I will not be able to move any further and add my products. Thank you for your time Marina Edited September 18, 2014 by mkli73 (see edit history)
NemoPS
Hi and welcome to the forums! So you are getting that message every time you try to install a module? Any module, even prestashop's default ones? Like if you uninstall the Top horizontal menu and try to reinstall it?

NemoPS
Ah, well you wrote module above so that's why I asked I am trying in installing a new module in my prestashop, either a new one that I have created or a free ready made template and I am recieving the following message "Bad configuration file" It might simply be a broken theme then, you should try others, which are compatible with that ps version

mkli73
Thanks for your time I know that my templte needs more work but why I can not upload the one.zip that is the copy of the default theme of prestashop6. Also is a normal config.xml file has the following structure? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?><theme> <version value="1.4"> <ccc available="true" /> <guest_checkout available="true" /> <one_page_checkout available="true" /> <store_locator available="true" /> </version></theme> Thanks Marina
mkli73
Except of the theme issues I want to check the Technical requirements that my server needs in order to work the presta shop. I have Current PHP version: 5.4 I was thinking of installing an older version of prstashop than 6 in oorder to see if the ready made templates I have downloaded wil be installed. mkli73
Thank you all, I have found the solution I was putting an extra folder when I as zipping the theme files. Regards Marina
mkli73
It should be for example first folder theme inside should be the Config.xml and a folder named theme Finally in the theme folder should the folder with the files of the theme. I hope I was clear enough. Marina
