BlueMe
Hi guys, I need some help, here's what's happening: I've upgraded PS from 1.5.4 to 1.6.0.9 successfully (apparently), then I've installed a newly purchased theme and after that I've noticed that in the product page all modules on the left were not displaying.I've tried to find out what would be the cause and I ended up doing the same thing for every page (I guess I was close ) after deactivating/uninstalling the modules from the old theme. Now if anyone has any idea on where to start it would be greatly apreciated. I thought I had everything under control and did this on the production site, thinking I would have time to finish it by morning I do have the backup though. I've tried a few things in order to fix this and this what I did: Installed the quick package (offered with the theme) on localhost, updated it from 1.6.0.6 to 1.6.0.9 and tried to export the theme and imported on the live site (after I've deleted my previous attempt) but somehow it's still the same. I'm guessing that it's either because the theme settings are still stored in PS folder somewhere or what I did is related to PS ? If I can get this fix ASAP I could opt. to export the products (115) to the localhost then replace the site. If you can suggest a fast way to do this (free plugin?) I can go by this way. But I would highly prefer just to fix the cosmetic issue. PS : you could say I'm a noob when it comes to PS but I can find my way with good guidance. Thank you very much and hope to hear from you soon ! Edited September 17, 2014 by BlueMe (see edit history)
vekia
go to theme preferences page and check if left / right columns are active (i don't know how it should work) then go to modules > positions search for displayLeftColumn / displayRightColumn modules list and click on EDIT button near each module you will see there "Exceptions field, make sure that modules haven't got exceptions related to "category" pages. BlueMe
Thank you !Indeed the theme was set to Left + Right when it was just meant to be Left. I've corrected that and the left modules apperead back just like before I've tried to fix it, meaning that the product page still doesn't have the modules displayed. Further I've checked displayLeftColumn and I have 22 modules (they seem to be there) I've checked before and double checked now the modules listed in displayLeftColumn and there are no exceptions (well there are a few but not on "product" or even "category" and i've removed all exceptions on some but still no go) Any other ideas ?
