blax
Hello, I have Prestashop 1.5.3.1 and I want to upgrade it. The 1-clik Upgrage module presents with upgrade to version 1.5.6.2. I would like to know if it's safe to directly upgrade from 1.5.3 to 1.5.6, or if it's better to upgrade single versions one by one (e.g. 1.5.3 to 1.5.4, then 1.5.4 to 1.5.5, and so on). Thank you. Best regards Roberto Edited September 15, 2014 by roby84 (see edit history)
El Patron
you 'always' want to create a running copy of your production shop to test upgrade. this way when you work with production shop upgrade, there is no question how it will go. to answer your question 1.5.6.2 would be the correct choice if you do not want to upgrade to 1.
musicmaster
Upgrading is always a bit risky. That's why you need to test it on a copy of your shop and that's why you should always make a backup before you start the upgrade process. (don't rely on the backup Prestashop makes as part of the upgrade: it often doesn't work and many people switch it off because it often leads to timeouts). The next question is : why do you want to upgrade? If 1.5.2 has some annoying bug that hinders you or a new version has better functionality you have a good reason. If it is just because you hope newer will be better I would stick to the old version.
