No guarantees but to try to help it would help to know things like:

1) version of OS on your server
2) version of Prestashop
3) version of PHP

Also of course specifically what you have tried so far.

i fixed. i repalced the contact php with version 1.1's, i then added to line 360 of smtp.php

if (preg_match("/^[A-Za-z0-9-]+\\.php\$/", $file) && $file != "index.php")

then it worked with gmail smtp
