Image slider for your homepage - erradic loading/displaying ? please help !

Hi,

I have installed the image slider for your homepage module - configured it all up and it seemed to be working fine - but is very erradic.

 

the first slide displays, then the second, then it goes mental skips through the rest then quickly goes back to the start.  next time through, it displays one, then two, then three, then four - then again , goes mental and skips thorugh the rest.   Each time, there is a different number displayed, but it never goes all the way through.

 

If I turn off autoplay and manual click through - it is perfect.   The other thing I noticed is that when I change the pause and other settings, if I look at /estore/config/modules/homeslider/homeslider.php the changes are NOT reflected in there.    Changing these manually in the file to reflect the settings from the module config page make no difference.  Changing them in the module configure pages allows me to save, but again, not reflected.

 

I have checked the permissions and it is apache:owner   as it should be (i believe) and all are 755.

 

Can someone please advise me where this could be going wrong?
