Copying a module the customising it

Hi guys

 

Is it possible to copy a module and customise it to my liking?

 

I want to copy the "Cash on Delivery" module and customise it in order to change the text and perhaps some minor formatting...is this possible?

 

If so, can somebody tell me step by step?

you can copy it and create own module based on this one.

copy directory name and change it to mymodule

then change name of main module .php file to mymodule.php

open mymodule.php file and change cashondelivery to mymodule

do the same for each instance of cashondelivery and to custom module variables
