Multilanguage site with multilanguage categories & product decsription

Hi Everybody,

I am new to Prestashop, so pls bear with me.

I installed it, works well.

Now i need to create multilanguage site with multilanguage categories & product decsription.

How do i do it?

are there any manuals /FAQs that can help me.

Just go to Tools > Languages, add the languages you want for your site, then go to Tools > Translations, select Front Office translations, then click a flag to enter the translations for that language. Do this for each of the languages. You can download language packs here and import them into Prestashop as a starting point. Many of them are incomplete since they were written for earlier versions of Prestashop, so you'll need to find the missing translations and enter them yourself.

Thanks a lot for your quick response.

Let me rephrase my question:
I need to create each category & product name(including details) in French & English languages so that when a visitor chooses English language then the website shows everything in english including the category/product names as well as the details.

Having done this in osCommerce, where as soon as you add a new language, you automatically get name & details fields to fill for each language for each category as well as product details.

Example: visitor chooses French: Along with the interface in french the category/ names as well
Livres, Herbes, Plantes etc..

If the visitor chooses English: He will see English interface plus categories, product names & details in English as well.
Books, Herbs, Plants, etc...

With multiple languages installed when you edit a category/product you will see a little flag for the other languages you have installed under the text field, click this and enter your text for the other language. Quite sure you can do this for all languages installed.

That's how the default install works with English & French anyway.

i have three languages and just one flag in admin in categories and currencies etc. how can i embed three flags?

Hey,

If you select the 'Flag' icon next to the fields you can then choose English/French/Spanish and make the changes for each language.
