B@ndit
Hi ladies and gents, I recently migrated my prestashop 1.4.8 site from one server to another (with the same provider) All went smoothly however it was brought to my attention today that the search box up top has stopped working... (The Ajax search) when you typed in a product it used to auto fill and offer several choices.. but now all it does is accept the text, then when you press GO it responds with the nothing found page... Any help really appreciated. the site is www.homebaking.ie thanks in advance Steven Edited September 4, 2014 by B@ndit (see edit history)

B@ndit
bo-->preferences-->search have you rebuilt the index manually? Yes, I have followed everything I found on this thread also http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/212614-prestashop-1473-search-suddenly-not-working-within-last-few-days/page-2?hl=+search%20+box as shown below (with more information from my settings) B@ndit, on 16 Sept 2014 - 8:37 PM, said: WOW, the exact same problem Ive been having since migrating my site from an old server and an old version of PHP to a new server with 3 different PHP options available to choose from... Ive tried everything suggested here, even switched between different php versions 5.3.28, 5.4.30 and 5.5.14 to no avail... would amybody know if the settings below might have any affect on the search? When I enter a search item on front end and press search it just goes to a blank page. PHP implementation Shared hosting PHP (5.3.28) CGI support On SSI support On Error Documents On Webalizer Web Statistics On WAP support On Consolidated HTTP/HTTPS Folder Off thanks in advance Steven turn on debugging then try a search. to turn on debugging: edit config/defines.inc.php find this line: define('_PS_MODE_DEV_', false); change it to define('_PS_MODE_DEV_', true); save and try the search. Then it will give you the error. I turned on dubugging and no change :-(

Please, im desperate and the boss is not impressed Steven Hi Steven, turn on error reporting, this will give you idea of why the product page render is not completing. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/224525-how-to-turn-on-error-reporting-for-debug-information/ you may want to consider posting new topic if searching on error has no solution. B@ndit
Hi Steven, turn on error reporting, this will give you idea of why the product page render is not completing. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/224525-how-to-turn-on-error-reporting-for-debug-information/ you may want to consider posting new topic if searching on error has no solution. Thanks for the information, I was using a different method of ERROR reporting, found elsewhere on these forums, which didnt work, your method did work and within 5 seconds I could see that the SEND TO A FRIEND module was the problem, so I disabled it and all seems to be working now. Thank you again for the prompt reply. best regards Steven
