generalexperts
I was making changes to my Homefeatured Block. Until recently the changes I input to my css doesn't change anything. Using the inspection tool hasn't helped either. Could it be a setting in the BO with Performance? I've tried that too and it didn't help. Thanks! walidon
you find the homefeatured.css in the root of your website in the folder "modules" then in homefeatured module folder. in case that is not there then look into themes/your-theme/modules/homefeatured. generalexperts
Yes I have tried every homefeatured.css to make changes. Normally I edit the one that is in the modules folder. Nothing is working. I can delete all the css from within that file and it still works. Also having trouble with global.css as no changes there are being made either. walidon
try to clear your cache! plus you want to make changes to the four containers of the products?
generalexperts
Yes trying to make changes to the homefeatured block (4 containers). I tried to clear my cache, still nothing. This is the procedure I followed. http://www.templatemonster.com/help/prestashop-how-to-clear-smarty-cache.html#prettyPhoto/1/
generalexperts
Still nothing working. I've found the /themes/shop/cache/ and deleted the css file that it was being directed to in the cache. That didn't work. I changed the setting to "Keep CSS as original" instead of using CCC for CSS. Still nothing. Using the inspection tool in Chrome that just changed it showing the CSS in the cache to using the actual file, ie global.css or homefeatured.css. Changing those files does absolutely nothing. Please help!
dioniz
You need to edit yourdomain.com/modules/homefeatured/homefeatured.css After that try to clear browser cache with Ctrl-F5.
generalexperts
Yes that's the one im editing. I've looked now, all files when making changes don't show up on my site. I've also cleared browser cache and tried IE, Chrome, and Firefox. Edited September 2, 2014 by generalexperts (see edit history)
dioniz
How do you make changes? What exactly do you do?
generalexperts
Ive gone as far as deleting all the text in the global.css and saving it. Nothing happens. Of course it's backed up now. But I've made a small color edit, so i will know when things work again. Any ideas? When using the inspection tool I see it is going to themes/shop/cache/2fd0090bb8f84ddefd5d26fdc8858c4c_all.css Can I delete these files here so maybe it will direct to the correct global.css, etc... dioniz
Turn off CCC, clear cache, make changes to css file, upload it again, clear browser cache then see if it works
walidon
when you delete the cache, don't do that manually! go to your BO advanced parameters-performances and then click on delete smarty cache plys clear your browser cache and see what happens! good luck
generalexperts
Well it's too late to do that manually, is that the problem? I'm using 1.5.4.1. So when I clear smarty cache, Template Cache to No and Cache to disable. I've tried every variable. Literally have been at this all day. Any other ideas? I recently got CloudCache and using the basic version. Could it be something with them? Or maybe because I manually delete files
generalexperts
In the smarty debud console I opened it and this is what it says: Smarty Debug Console - Total Time 2.06898 included templates & config files (load time in seconds)/home1/../public_html/mydomain/modules/ganalytics/views/templates/hook/header.tpl (compile 0.24959) (render 0.00172) (cache 0.00000) And there's about 15 of these for .tpl files. assigned template variables $HOOK_FOOTER Smarty_Variable Object (3)->value = " <script type="text/javascript"> ..."->nocache = false->scope = "Smarty root" and this list goes on... generalexperts
I have disabled cloudfare. It took about 4 hours and then the site was still messed up. Contacted hostmonster and there was a problem with my DNS. But it had jumbled my entire site and had to fix the homepage after all this. Eitherway things are back to normal, thanks for the help!
