alpe09ag
Hi there, I have a problem with my default language. I am using the multistore function and want to use English only for one of my stores, therefore I did the following: Localization - Languages - "Check only English for this store" Problem is that the language is now not english (but danish like my other stores) -and English is the only enabled language for this store!? (attached screen print) What can I do? Is there a file that I can edit to force the language to english for this store?
El Patron
there have been reports that clearing the cache solved issue (also clear browser cache/cookie for that domain). also when you went into localization->languages did you select the shop context you were working with? alpe09ag
there have been reports that clearing the cache solved issue (also clear browser cache/cookie for that domain). also when you went into localization->languages did you select the shop context you were working with? Yesterday I was a little to quick to mention that the matter was solved. A few hours later my site was Danish again. It seams like something is forcing my site to be Danish! What I did now was to Enable a 3rd Language (Deutch) to see it this would change the matter (keeping Danish disabled). According to my configuration my site should now give me an option between the 2 languages: English or Deutch. But what happens is that it shows the page in Danish and then gives me options to select between English or Deutch. (see attached screen print) I really hope that you can help me out here !? El Patron
sorry you still have issue. I looked at shop, it has English | Danish selector. http://screencast.com/t/dE6etch7N moving forward I think it good to explain from this screen shot, what you are trying to accomplish. Yes it does, but this is only because the store is running live so I had to switch it back again. What I want is to have English only. As far as I can understand, what I should do is: Backoffice->Localisation->Language click on Danish and uncheck the store aacopenhagen.com (and clear cache) But then my store is Danish only (and not English). El Patron
...this gets a bit tricky (read confusing), when I look at language-->edit Danish, it is still associated to AA http://screencast.com/t/11enOm1CFtN7 I don't want to make any config change in order to test. try this: disassociate Danish from AA, the regenerate .htaccess file by turning off and back on Friendly URL. I deleted the content of the following folders: cache/smarty/compile cache/smarty/cache img/ tmp Then I cleared all cache and cookies "forever" in Chrome. Then opened Chrome in Incognito mode and Force refreshed the site. But the site is in Danish Edited September 3, 2014 by alpe09ag (see edit history)
alpe09ag
Any idea why you see the english version and I see the Danish version? What happens when you go to this link: http://aacopenhagen.com/161-all-models When I click on that link I am being redirected to the danish version: http://aacopenhagen.com/161-alle-modeller Edited September 3, 2014 by alpe09ag (see edit history)
El Patron
Any idea why you see the english version and I see the Danish version? most likely there is some module/override or other non-native browser detect... browser detect was not introduced until 1.5.6 without using ftp...looking at files...I can not explain otherwise. tip: test, change your browser language to English, try again... I did see some module dealing with languages language block mutlishop, do not no if this is causing affect or not.

In BO I can still edit all products in two languages, should this be possible after disassociating Danish? www.nordicapparel.com/language-issue-6.jpg yes, prestashop allows shop manager to define any number of languages, even if disabled then we can still work with that translation in back office, this allows one to create translations without showing in fo until ready. as for deleting module etc..not all modules are created equal nor do we now if that is the issue or if so and you 'deleted' without uninstall that some part of module (if that is issue) is still present, check overrides folder/files for anything that looks like it's manipulating language. Okay, then it might be that other module that I have active for another store called "Location Detection for Prestashop". Do you think thats it? In case so, is there anything that I can do to keep this module active for that other store, but inactive for this store? Do you think thats it? In case so, is there anything that I can do to keep this module active for that other store, but inactive for this store? the module needs to be coded correctly to support multishop, i.e. enabled/disabled by shop. most likely is issue, but then it's all guessing without one having direct look see...and that is outside of scope I can help with in public forum. re: my advanced module, is better than 'any' existing lang/currency detector on the planet, you got that part yes? All others before this module were simple 'guess work'..

El Patron
Hi, I am unable to recreate language issue. I suspsect any issue you are having may be related to Location Detection for Prestashop module, this uses slow IP model, which I personally no longer recommend for this sort of logic.
