lateral
Hi Guys I have installed the latest version of Prestashop (1.6.0.9) including the sample theme (it's called "default-bootstrap") and sample data. the data is in a database called "db1". I have purchased a new theme from templatemonster (let's called it "newtheme") that I want to be the default theme. It also comes with sample data that I have loaded into a database called "db2". I have installed "newtheme" and have set it as the default theme via the "preferences/themes" option in the backend. It says that it is "Your Current Theme". Unfortunately, it still displays the "default-bootstrap" theme instead of "newtheme". What am I doing wrong? I also want "newtheme" to connect to the database called "db2" as it contains the correct sample data. Help! Thanks Regards Greg Edited August 23, 2014 by lateral (see edit history)
NemoPS
Given that template monster provides the worst (really) prestashop templates, are you using multistore? In any case, try going to advanced parmeters, performance, and clean your store's cache, see if it helps
lateral
Hi, I'm not using "multi-store" . I have tried deleting the cache via the Admin backend without success. I am now manually deleting the Smarty cache file directly from the server to see if that helps....I'll update this thread with my results. lateral
Hi again I just finished manually deleting the Smarty cache folders and files and I still get the default Prestashop theme. I them deleted the theme via the backend and it still displays! Here is the data that is displayed: http://www.greghanley.com.au/prestashop/?live_configurator_token=28808ad5ca21f369f33ccda7b1026f28&id_employee=1&id_shop=1 This is driving me nuts! Help! vekia
you imported theme well you just see contents of detault modules you installed this theme with theme installer? it looks like not, in most of cases you have to reconfigure modules by yourself. you just see contents of default prestashop modules disable them, turn on modules available in your theme and everything will be allright
lateral
Hi Vekia I followed the instrcutions that were supplied with the template: http://www.templatemonster.com/help/quick-start-guide/prestashop-themes/v1-1/index_en.html I do not know how to determine which modules are "connected" to the default theme and/or my new theme...how do I do that? Also, I tried to use "live edit" via the "Modules/Positions" back end function to delete what I thought were the modules and whilst the theme now looks different (http://www.greghanley.com.au/prestashop/) it is still not the new theme. Please provide me with some detailed help. Thanks Regards Greg
NemoPS
The theme's modules should be the ones contained in the theme's zip file itself, in the /modules/ folder of the archive
