I am setting my presta store, kindly let me know how I can be intimated about the order placement on my store?

 

Or what are the different ways I can get notified about a placed order...?

Hi, you will need to install the free mail alerts module.  bo-->modules-->modules-->(in module search box) type mail alerts

 

you should see the module appear

 

click install

 

then configure after installation complete
