Can't log in to Prestashop via Notepad++

Hi everyone,

 

I have a bit of a newbie question for you guys. I need to make a small change to the code on my Prestashop site and have found out that I can do it by downloading Notepadd++. My problem is that I can't seem to login to Notepadd++ to make any changes. Here's what i'm typing in when attempting to login:

 

hostname: sitename.co.uk 

port: 21 (Notepadd++ does this itself)

username: the username I type in to login to Prestashop

Password: the password I type in to login to Prestashop

 

Do I need to add anything into the initial remote directory field? I'm not 100% sure whether I'm adding the right thing into the hostname field. Where would I go to find my hostname?

Instead of the username and password you need when logging into prestashop you need to use your ftp or cpanel login information.

Is that easier to use? I'll give it a try when I get home but I'm guessing I'm going to have a similar problem logging in. Where in the Prestashop system would I find my hostname? A part of me thinks this will be my mistake.

Oh I see, I thought they were the same things. Thanks for the help, I'll request this from my web developers. :-)
