Friendly-URL similar to product pages for a Custom Page

I have created a custom page (not via CMS) for the many promotions that are held in my store.  It works similar to a blog in which I have a list of promotions which when clicked, opens the individual promotion.

 

I am able to customize the list of promotions url to http://www.example.com/promotions via the SEO & URLs option.

 

The problem I need help with is that my individual promotion url looks like

 

http://www.example.com/promotions?pid=155&title=promo-name

 

I need would like it to work like the products in my shop so that the url looks like 

 

http://www.example.com/promotions/155-promo-name

 

Can anybody guide me on how I can accomplish this in Prestashop 1.6?

If I am not wrong this can be done manually via .htaccess edits as well, sadly I don't know how to write the expression to do this.  Hopefully as people are waking up Monday morning, someone will be kind enough to share an answer.
