fitzy89
Hello I'm running PrestaShop 1.6.0.8 I'm a new user of PrestaShop and I'm just setting up my first online store. I am importing products from a CSV file into PrestaShop. The CSV file is provided by my supplier and I will need to update it daily, so I am looking to automate this process as much as possible. The issue I have here is that the categories in the CSV file, in some cases are shortened versions of the word. For example the "Software" category is shortened in the CSV to "SWARE" or "Motherboard" is shortened to "MBOARD". As it is at the moment, if the category name in the CSV file is not spelt identically to the category setup in Prestashop, it will create a new category which isn't ideal. If there a way to match categories with one that is already created? The CSV file is automatically uploaded to my site via FTP every day so I am also looking for a way to automatically import it into Prestashop preferably without any intervention. I haven't looked too much into it yet but I assume there is also a way that if a product being imported already exists, it will just update any information that has changed (such as stock quantity) and leave the rest as it is?
