Not receiving order emails

Hi guys,

 

I have just started using prestashop and have been using it for two weeks now.

 

My site is finally up and running but for some reason i don't receive emails when customers place orders.

 

I using the php option and when I send a test email it comes through fine. But when I place an order on my shop it doesn't send the email. I am a newbie and have no coding experience. So please try and give a simple answer if possible.

Goto Modules

type in mail alerts > configure

 

Make sure you've got new order, set to yes

 

This is also where you put the e-mail address(s)

in addition to what Keir said,

what kind of mail method you use? simple SMTP or mail() 

 

i think that it will be enough to turn on mail alerts as Keir mentioned

Thank you for the quick reply's! It worked. I dont know how. But for some reason the module was not even installed!

Hi, I'm facing the same problem.

mail alerts is installed and yes to new order. using php method. (smtp gives an error) order email doesn't receive.

please help
