Crowell
Hi everyone! I'd like to ask you for help, I have just bought a domain and server from domain com with a basic plan (capture2 file) and it works very slow. I just installed, used cleaner and google analytics addon. Capture file shows test, almost 21sec and 55/100 points. Could you give me any advice? Server support says it's not their fault and it takes them 5-7 sec to access it, which I think is still way too much. Thanks in advance! Naldinho
Companies that oversell to the point where sites get slow will lie and say it is not their fault so I wouldn't rule that out just because they said it wasn't their fault. Use a tool that displays the load time of individual components of the site. That should give you some insight into why your site is slow. Chrome has this under developer tools or you can use Pingdom's free tool http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/
El Patron
if we could all run ecommerce or other heavy on 3.75 a month, life would be grand...for that little bit of money I will say impressed that they even wrote you back, as they just then lost money on your for the month. you can optimize ps only so far, then we must then look at better hosting... to learn where ps is slowing down open config/defines.inc.php define('_PS_DEBUG_PROFILING_', false); set to true, visit any front or back office page...scroll down to get key info the more you learn about ps and how it works, the more you can do yourself. it's a learning experience that will serve you well in the future. suerte! El Patron
to set up ps optimally see these settings...personally I think modules specific to PrestaShop can in most cases allow a heavy cms to run on slower shared hosting. http://screencast.com/t/B2OJUTysp
Crowell
I did scaning and I have turned on the debugging mode. I got such an information, which I have now idea how to fix :| and why is the heading so heavy from the beginning. If asking to take a look on it is too much, I'm sorry. I can try to manage it but if the PS is working slow from the very beginning, I really have no clue. I have found this CCC even before, but I fight with cashe, which I don't know how to turn on but it's only a matter of time when I will get this one
El Patron
you may want to consider posting in job offers to have someone help you find speed issues (assuming not hosting). there is only so much I can do in forum but help other community members. you now have a tool... tip: you can disable a module and run profilling looking to see if that module or modules is causing slowness. start with any non-native modules you may have loaded (block layered can be a heavy hitter)
Crowell
I can consider only learning about it. My blood and kidney are the only things I could pay with right now I will do everything I can, if it won't work I have to assume that I have bought way too cheap server Besides default modules I have used until now only the Cleaner.. but I will work on it, I haven't move yet them because there are so many active ones. Thank you for your help! Edited August 14, 2014 by Crowell (see edit history)
