Stuck on step 4

Recommended Posts

I have following the installation instructions here - http://www.prestashop.com/wiki/Installing_And_Updating_PrestaShop_Software/#Install_PrestaShop

Anyways during the intall process all feilds come back as green as if everything is ok, on step 3 it connects to my database. But then when I fill out the info on step 4 and click next nothing happens, it just hangs on that page. After a 3-5 mins or so I tried going to the front end page, everything was there and it looks like it installed correctly.

I deleted the install folder and changed the admin fold name then tried logging in. It said the employee doesnt exist or bad password. So I tried the lost password link, that said to employee.

Then I followed some intructions on how to manually create the employee and reset the password. That worked but when I logged in my new admin had no tabs, the correct permissions where missing..

So I started over, created a new DB and uploaded the files to a new folder on my server (using godaddy with php5) Anyways did the same steps to install, and got to step 4 and it froze again.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jake

Hi, I don't know if you found the solution as yet but the solution is to uncheck the little checkbox at the bottom of Step 4 requesting notifications by email. I unchecked it and my site immediately completed set up.
