milkman15
I tried editing two categories at one time. (two categories were clicked and I hit edit) Unfortunately I don't know exactly what error I got, but I do know it was something with memory. After going back to the parent category, a whole bunch of categories that arrived on import suddenly disappeared. In the product list, it still lists the category name that it once had. When I click on the product and go to associations, it says "1 selected", but under a parent category it wasn't under.. plus the category doesn't show up. As well, the categories still exist in the database.

Dh42
Hmm. I really don't know how to go about explaining what might be the issue. I have come across it before. What was happening was the parent category in the database was getting messed up. If you look in the database look at if it is considered a root category and what the parent to it is. It seems like if I remember correctly what the case was is that the actual main category and the root of categories had the same level number. I had to move the main category under the root category. musicmaster
Often in this kind of case the nleft and nright fields of the category table are corrupted. These fields maintain a kind of tree of the structure of your categories. In many cases creating one extra category is enough to restore order as it forces Prestashop to recalculate the fields. Searching for nleft and nright in this forum could help too. Don't forget to backup before you start to try out solutions.
