horns
Hi All,I am adding new products to shop, when I go to images to upload it says ( update successful ) but when I look at my shop the image is not there just a box with a red x and the product description. If anybody can help me with this I would appreciate it. I am new to prestashop so please try to explain in simple terms if possible. Thankyou for any help in advance. This post has had so many views with no help at all, if someone can please tell me how to upload product photos so that they are viewable on my site I would really appreciate. I thought this forum was here to help people.RegardsPaul
FBert
HelloThere could be severel issues on this problem/task.If prestashop shows a default image for the produktimage thenprestashop hasnt found the uploaded, converted, renamed image.First check if the image you uploaded was converted and has been copied in the right location.(by prestashop)You find the product images here: www.xyz.com/prestashop/img/pThe imagename syntax: productid-serialnumber.jpgOr download the complete folder and look locally. If it isnt there than possably the rights of the imagefolders arent set correct so that prestashop is able to wright files in the appropriate folders.-> http://www.prestashop.com/wiki/Installing_And_Updating_PrestaShop_Software/#Install_PrestaShopCheck if you are able to upload and see category images correct. Let us see if this helps. Friedbert

TropischBruin
It must be rights related or on of the requirements for PS are not correct set.Can you check your server logs just after you tried to load a photo to one of your products? Ask your hoster if you cannot find the server logs.
horns
Hi,When I log into my Back Office I get a error message saying ( Path is not the same between your browser and server. )I have spoken to my host and they have told me that the the photo's are loading but cannot be seen because I need to specify a path for each picture. They said I need to create it in index page. If some can tell me in detail how to specify a path for the photo's I would appreciate it. I think I now know the problem and just need help with it. If anyone has the information to do with this please post, thankyou in advance for any help you can give. karasardelis
OK I found it... there is a folder outside www called .tmp - at least in my system... I gave full rights (777) on that folder and then everything worked. I believe this should be included in the instructions...
adz
My host will only allow permission to files and folders within my web space inside the www folder. I think that maybe I should change my web hoster because nothing seems to work at the moment.
dskvr
I am also experiencing this problem1) Directories are writable2) Photos uploaded have correct extension and are below 30k3) I meet all the requirements for PrestaShop to work correctly. When I upload an image, the page only partially loads. It loads the header of the administration interface and the breadcrumbs, and then stops. PHP error_reporting is E_ALL and can view errors, so this isn't it. The entry for the photo is added to the database, as I can see it's meta-details, but the photo never makes it to the 'p' directory. What's wrong?Note: Nothing in any logs! Apache or PHP! madfox7
dskvr, I had the same problem. I found out that problem was in disabled function exec() in my PHP configuration. Check your phpinfo(). In my case this function was on suhosin.executor.func.blacklist. I changed this value in .htaccess and it works now.I hope it may help someone. rlwelch4646
I'm curious... A lot of the forum threads opened up are never resolved. It's really disheartening to see all these people with problems and nothing ever gets resolved except for some guy trying to sell his services. What is wrong with these forums!I'm having the same damn problem and it shouldn't be a problem. I understand having to pay for add-ons and service that goes beyond the core package but this is an issue that is unresolved and it's a simple function of the PrestaShop CMS. If PrestaShop wishes to be relevant and be a successful business they have to handle these situations better.Don't leave your users out in the cold depending on the kindness of strangers and people who are looking to exploit simple problems with your product for their personal gain. Please, PrestaShop, take care of your users and we'll continue to use it and support you through add-on purchases and continued use for years to come. Now, with that said...Can someone please help with this issue!!! These people from 2009, 2010 and me, in 2011, need help uploading product images when these certain criteria are met:- Permissions are all 777 in img directory- Category images are uploading just fine- When you add the photo in the back-office it says, "Update successful," but it's obviously not- I have changed the setting in config.inc.php to get errors but I am not seeing any errors- I have tried changing sizes, file extensions, you name itPlease help us
dmmagic
I am having the same problem. All of the folders in img are set to 777. I logged in through FTP and see there is no photo uploaded, and the image in my store is a red X.

But again, the category images are just fine and I can change them at will. This has to be an issue with the coding, no?
