Prestashop & Webacapell Database Problems

Hi All,

 

I have a client on my webserver using Webacapela and Prestashop.

 

I know my way around my server but I am new to Prestashop.

 

I need to transfer the client's existing site to a new server but I am having some major problems.

 

To do a test I have installed Webacapella on my local machine and have the same license key as the client. I restored a copy from Webacapella on my local computer and then used Webacapella to install Prestashop on a test domain. 

 

Everything works fine at this point. I can log into the Prestashop backend and I can see the default products.

 

 

I took a backup of the database for safety and then I took a backup of the database from the live shop and used phpMyadmin to restore the database, being very careful to follow the instructions.

 

At this point it all goes t*tsup! Now I can log into the Admin side of Prestashop at all - I just get a blank screen.

 

I then restored the database backup of the test data and everything works again. 

 

The Prestashop versions are the same, 1.5.2.0. I noticed that the test data backup had a completely different name from the live shop and it insn't compressed, the name is: davescot_boilies.sql. The live site backup name is: 1406739841-7356870c.sql.gz. 

 

As far as I can see the settings in both shops are the same as far as the backup is concerned.

 

I have 10 years experience with OsCommerce and I am used to working with config files and can do the odd bit of php coding but this one has me baffled.

 

If anyone has any ideas of what I am doing wrong and how I can fix the problem I would be grateful.
