Mass Upload/Update Module with Automation?

I have a fairly large catalog (about 12k products plus attribute lines) that I'd like to import from one of my wholesalers - I'm a drop-ship vendor. The catalog comes in both XML and CSV and is updated completely a few times a year. 

 

There are many attributes for some of the products (mostly clothing - size, color, finish, etc...). In most cases these are nested under the product in the CSV file (also an XML version) with a type of "product_attribute" versus "standard_product" - they have a child SKU (i.e., 123-456 has 123-456-a, -b, -c, etc...)

 

There are also image files I'd like auto-associated by SKU. Same naming convention and the name is in the import file in a column. They're in PNG format with the convention of PRODSKU.png for each file.

 

There is also a daily inventory level that's provided by the manufacturer - basically only 2 columns of SKU, QTY ON HAND. I'd want to bring that in to update the product list on a daily basis as well. It's on FTP and I'd love to see it automated for me.

 

Anyone know of a module for 1.6 that can do such a thing? If not, anyone know a developer that's got one close and is willing to work on it with me?

I can offer you Store Manager for Prestashop application and its addon - Automated Product Import. By means of the software you can set scheduled updates of your store info using wholesaler's feed. Using the combination of those 2 solutions it is possible to update all product related info or some portion of it, let's say only quantity.

It is possible to set up automated updates of different stores and information via import. The updates can be scheduled and your wholesale partner will have only to input necessary changes in the file and upload it to their FTP and application will access it each predefined period of time and upload spreadsheet applying changes. It is also possible to do changes with CSV, XML file on-the-fly.

I'll check it out, thanks! Out of curiosity, this supplier has the ability to download products and images in XML and CSV. He's also got a small API he's built to upload the orders - perfect for a dropshipper.

 

Would you guys be interested/able to build a PrestaShop Add-On that would fully automate my relationship with this supplier - daily product inventory downloads, daily order uploads, monthly total product updates with images, etc...?

Hello!
With Store Manager for PrestaShop aund Automated Product Import addon you will be able to set up supplier-store synchronization from file (csv, xml, xls, xlsx, txt). However, it is possible to schedule import your products, but not orders. Namely, as per your request:
 

daily product inventory downloads

It is possible. You will just need one field for product identification and other one with quantity values (Except of the case if you are using Advanced Stock Management)
 

daily order uploads

Not possible, only automated import of products is supported
 

monthly total product updates with images

If you mean renewal of product-related details including images, it is possible. To tell more precisely, let me know what exactly you need to get updated.
