Module blocklayered slowing down category page

Hi,

I've added about 40 products to my ps installation. Each product contains several combinations.

The blocklayered module is slowing down the category page.

Right now the category page load time is about 15 secs which is unacceptable on a staging server and in my local machine the load time is 44 secs.

Any hints?
