Restore Cart

Does anyone know how to restore a cart? I have a customer who placed an order, but didn't fully complete the checkout process, but now his cart is empy and there is no order in the back office.

When I go from the carts area of the BO, and click on the cart it shows all the products and shows an order number for it. If I click on that it goes to the order page but is empty of all items. But if I go through the orders section the order does not appear in the list.

On a test order I tried this same thing, got the same result. from the cart > cart Details > Order page, I switched the order status to Payment recieved to see if that would sort it out. In part it did. The order now shows up as it should in the BO order list with the price and all the relevant details, but when you click through to the order details there are no products on it.

So is there a way to take this cart and properly switch it to an order either through the BO or through MySQL?

Anyone have any ideas?
