Andrew Watson
HI, Sorry I'm a noob with prestashop. I got going quite fast and my shop is almost ready to go live. But I have one product, which is a case of boxes of coffee pods. Once you purcase the case the user should be able to select 12 boxes of coffee pods from the possible 20 flavours available. No I can see the combinations option, and I have used it for a coffee machine available in three colours. What I can see is how to allow the customer to buy a case of coffee and then choose 12 boxes of the 20 possible flavours to fill the case. If it help, the boxes of coffee are sold seperately, so already exist in the shop. Can this be done with default prestashop 1.6? if so, how? Naldinho
If you are limited to stock PrestaShop then the way you would do this would be to have 12 attributes and each would have the 20 options -- so flavour 1, flavour 2 etc.. The problem with that is it leads to 20^12 possible combinations which is a lot and certainly higher than the ~2500-3000 combinations PrestaShop can handle. My suggestion would be to buy Presto-Changeo's attribute module. They sell two but I am only familiar with Attribute Wizard Pro. That allows you to do the 12 attribute method since the module handles combinations differently so doesn't have the 3000 cap. The same module also allows for setting up quantity boxes which would be an even better solution if it allowed you to set a max number -- I have the module but have never needed to use that feature so I don't know but you could ask the developer. If you don't want to buy a module then the only way would be to have some text instructing customers to choose 12 coffees and have them manually type them into a comment. Andrew Watson
Thanks for the advice, yes I would be happy with a module if I could find one. I still can't find an acceptable way of achieving what I want. Right now I am exploring a simpler option that would also be acceptable, cart rules. I would be happy to not make a case of coffee, but instad make it so that if you add 12 boxes then a discount is applied. Because all the products are in the coffee capsule category, I think that should be easy. I am just trying to get it to work now.
Andrew Watson
Yes. That worked nicely. I created a rule that if 12 boxes were purchased out of the category "coffee capsules", then a discount of 10€ would be applied. This is actually all I wanted, for the people to choose 12 units and get a discount. Actually it's great because this is a simple way for them to choose exactly what they want. Not what I asked for, but the end result (for me at least) is the same. Thanks.
