rgwhitaker
I have a little over 100 products in my database that I'd like to add some information, such as wholesale price. Is it possible to use a CSV import to add data to EXISTING products within the database? If so, how would I go about doing this? Thank you. El Patron
Hi, while no expert I see many shop owners manage their shops in this way, store commander (search) is also a pretty cool product. to get started read the following documentation from PrestaShop http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS16/CSV+Import+Parameters it would probably be a good idea to export your production mysql database using tool like phpmyadmin before actually updating products. Iryna
Hello! I can recommend you Store Manager for PrestaShop desktop application for fast product update. It has product import wizard using which you can upload files of different formats to PrestaShop. If you need to update existing products, as you have mentioned, add wholesale price, you so not need to transfer all the product details, but only product identifier and wholesale price to be added. You can export necessary products, change or add details in the file and import it back via the wizard. There is a free fully-functional version of Store Manager available for 30 days. You can give a try and check overall Store Manager functionality http://www.prestashopmanager.com/free-download/

rgwhitaker
Do you have the steps for backing up my production mysql database? I believe there are several ways to do so, but which is the best way? Is it best to do it within the Prestashop backoffice (I have 1.5.4.1)? Or through cpanel? El Patron
I own Google stock..so I don't mind as much searching for others. here is one example, it's pretty simple and is good for shop owner to know. http://www.rackspace.com/knowledge_center/article/how-to-backup-your-mysql-database-with-phpmyadmin note: you should be having a 'regular' back up automatically from your hosting, to do otherwise will prove to be folly
