revmark
Generally speaking, what are PS's limitations. I am look for a contract developer to help move inventory from a custom db to PS. But I am getting comments that say that PS may not be a good fit with over 5000 items and that I should go back to considering MagentoCE. Any thoughts? thanks Mark
jontobey
Having just done something similar, under the advice of a developer who really wanted to use this product and then bailed, I would definitely look at the entire market before choosing Prestashop again. Specifically, in addition to any issues with the product itself, of which I'm finding many, things which seem obvious to me are not easy on this platform (and many other platforms, either, unfortunately). Things which I think are must haves are not well supported including: 1) Integration with Quickbooks 2) An on-premise POS 3) Shipping I've spent months trying to configure all of the various modules you need buy and install to make this system work. So in addition to the above 2, I would say that I would look for a system that is NOT open source as the support is terrible and the cost in time and money are much more than an OTS system.
