redactuk
Hi We are using 1.5.6.2 and working with a developer at the moment to add some new functionality for gift cards, but we seem to have an issue as to how standard Cart Rules work. Could the developers / community please provide us some feedback on this example: Card Rule created for £10 with options: Free Shipping = Yes, Partial Use = Yes Cart Rule code then applied to the following order: 1 x product = £6.00 (inc tax)Shipping = £2.50 (inc tax)Total = £8.50 As expected (due to Free shipping option) the Total then changes to 0.00. In addition the Cart Rule / Discount line reads -£8.50 However, when the order is placed, as Cart Rule amount greater than order total, Prestashop (as expected) created a new discount code, but for £4.00! What I'm trying to understand is why the new discount code was not generated for £1.50? Would most people not want the cost of shipping to be used up by the discount code? Secondly, when the new discount code is created we would have hoped it would inherit values from old one i.e. also include Free Shipping = Yes, but this does not seem to happen. Maybe the above is by design, but I would be grateful if other users that use Cart Rules could confirm whether you are happy with the way this works or whether you also sees it as an issue.
