minxymoggy
I've been changing my CSS files but after uploading them, I find that no changes have occurred, despite the files having uploaded correctly and overwritten the old one. The first thing I did was go Preferences > Performance in the back office. I set Force Compile = Yes, Use Cache = No (both on Smarty and overall), turned off CCC, I am not running CloudCache. Back in my browser I hit CTRL+F5 and no joy. Next I went to Tools > Generators and unchecked the Optimization feature on .htaccess and regenerated it. Still no joy! Next I manually FTP'd my site and deleted out the contents in /tools/smarty/compile to clear any Smarty cache. And still no joy. Am I missing any other ways that Smarty can be outputting cache? Dh42
Have you tried clearing your browser history and cache?
minxymoggy
Yes I have. And it still has the previous version of product-list.css in it, so no joy.
Dh42
Are you hosted on a server that has varnish or nginx on it? It might be caching on the server.
minxymoggy
Great suggestion and one I'm not sure of since this is the only site I have hosted in France by OVH and their control panel doesn't give details of the server environment. I've popped an email into their support to see if it could be something on their end. Thank you for letting me know it could be that. I'll update once I've heard back from them. El Patron
sounds to me like you are not changing the correct files. go to front office page where you expect the .css files right click, view source, here you should see the .css file paths, note: if you have CCC .css then turn that off for this this purpose. make sure that you in fact are changing the correct file. the only other thing I can think of is that your hosting has some underlying cache, i.e. varnish cache for example hope you find one of my guesses helpful
