FurkyStyle
Hi Guys, In order to speed up my shop (cause its VERY slow), i did some research. One thing I need to change is the order which the site is loading. This won't speed up the site ofcourse, but it'll make the customer happy because it LOOKS fast. For example: First load all visible elements and THEN load all background stuff. In the meantime, the customer can watch at all the pictures i have on my site. Anyone want to share his opinion about this one? Note. im a noob @ HTML Prestashop version: 1.6.0.5 Edited July 11, 2014 by FurkyStyle (see edit history)

El Patron
I have 1.6 + And i prefer solving it without using money. 1.6 + is not enough info to help. before 1.6.0.7 all java bottom loaded, for 1.6.0.7 and higher optional, bo-->adv parms-->perfor-->load java top/bottom it would be awesome if template designers and module developers could make there themes work properly with all java bottom, but like herding cats, that is not 'always' possible. If you use P 1.5.x.x, buy JavaPro thanks kyrios for the mention, we now support 1.6.0.7 and higher.

El Patron
Like this? oops, my bad, no, in 1.6.0.6 and below javascript is loaded bottom by default. In 1.6.0.7 and higher this is an option (load bottom). so if you right click your front office-->view source-->scroll down you will see javascript loaded bottom, then you are good to go assuming your theme and modules (non-default) are working for you.
El Patron
tip: if you upgrade to 1.6.0.7 or higher, the back office default will change to load top, you would then need to set the load bottom option.
FurkyStyle
Im very afraid of losing all my settings when i update it to .0.7 or .0.8 Those aren't tested very well, so yeah.. And I'm already bad at changing small things (as you can tell by this topic )

Paulito
Hello I just wonder why you need to upgrade, you really do not have to. If your happy with what you have then why bother. Keep using the site you have, if you feel you need to upgade then try it out locally first to see if it is a benefit for you. Their are many forum members that are still on PS 1.2, PS 1.3 and doing very well. Paul

But then i had to update it to 1.6 because of a problem Now i have to update again? I'm happy with the version i have now and don't want to risk another update. Im very afraid of losing all my settings when i update it to .0.7 or .0.8 Those aren't tested very well, so yeah.. And I'm already bad at changing small things (as you can tell by this topic ) then don't make changes outside theme...jajajaja But there is no other way to fix it. I'm a noob, but at least im trying to learn it Tried to solve it with update, but 1 click update (module) gave an error.. It would be awesome if i could fix this. you should post new topic, and put more info than 'gave error'. chin up...back up back up back up! Jup, I did a backup already. The problem is the famous one: error (parseJSON) Example topic: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/192406-cant-auto-upgrade-any-version-same-error-every-time/page-6 So there must be a simple way to do stuff right?
