QUESTIONS TO [UPGRADE TIPS]

Recommended Posts

Hi, I followed the steps as stated herein: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/271060-upgrade-tips/. Created test folder with backup files and linked clone database to it. When the subdomain's main page loaded, it looks perfect with the address "test.mydomain.com".

But one problem which I need your solution: the categories and product pages are still nesting under the main domain: mydomain.com instead of test.mydomain.com. The CMS pages with test.mydomain.com address displayed 404 error message.

I have checked performance > SEO & URL:

Shop Domain: test.mydomain.com

SSL Domain: test.mydomain.com

Base URI: /

Another questions I have is that, once all modifications completed and ready to launch, what are the steps to do the integration with the live store without causing downtime?

Please enlighten me.

Thank you :)

I am using Prestashop 1.5.4.1. I tried to upgrade to 1.6.0.8 using 1-click on the test.mydomain.com. The process terminated and I contacted my host provider for the error message: [Ajax / Server Error] textStatus: "error" errorThrown:"Internal Server Error" jqXHR: " .

Here is his reply:

This error is caused by the fact the script executed by your application took too long to execute. On our shared servers we have set the max_execution_time for PHP to 45 seconds. This is a global setting that cannot be changed individually. This is done to ensure that all our customers use a fair share of the server resources and to prevent users from overloading the shared server.

It's very frustrating indeed. If that's the case, is that mean I can't use test server? Or I have to sign up a dedicated server as he advised? Or is there any other way I can adopt?
