[solved] Transferred Website to a new server

Recommended Posts

Background: I was building the a Prestashop store on an existing host I had, but now that I am about ready to go into production, I transferred the site to another host account so I could have another dedicated IP for SSL.

Steps: Backup DB

Download files

Create DB

Run SQL to set up DB

Upload files

Change the config file to the new DB / DB User.

Problem: The URLs are broken.  All the links from the home page are "Not Found".

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Possible this is a different url than your build?

Most often this is a cause of 'old cache'.

back office-->advanced parms-->performance-->clear cache (top right on 1.6 shops)

if that does not fix then,

back office--->advanced parameters-->performance

turn off friendly urls' save-->turn on friendly url's  save

(this to rebuild the .htaccess file)

Thank you for your help!

For future reference:

Clearing Cache didn't work.

I had to Turn Off Friendly URLs (1.6 is in Preferences / SEO and URLs)

at this point it worked again.

You can Friendly URLs back on, and it will work as normal.
