BlueBell
I noticed that there is a new version 1.6.0.7 available. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/338210-version-1607-is-now-available/?hl=%2Bnew+%2Bversion I currently use 1.6.0.6 and a default theme. I have a few codes edited. Not a whole lot but enough not to remember where they are. I don't know if upgrading to a new version would screw up these codes. I really don't want another major headache fiddling with the codes all over again, but since the new version has an "Improvement of cart summary", I hope it would solve the constant shipping cost issues in the cart that I'm having. bellini13
If you changed core Prestashop files in classes, controllers, modules folders then yes you are going to lose them. So this really depends on what you changed, and you will need to do better next time to document what you changed
dodgebill
BUT... will it override CSS changes too? How about hooks and placements/ module order? I know when I was trying to setup 1.5 last year every time it upgraded I lost everything. That's why I gave up. Now I'm trying this again with 1.6 and hoping for better results. BlueBell
Bellini, yes, I did change a few things in modules, I believe. I'm not ready to lose all that, so I guess I'll skip the upgrade this time.

Karlitus
I have the same problem, I have installed version 1.6.0.6 and I did some customizations, but I do not remember which files I have changed. What should I do ? 1º Backup actual folders and files and then upgrade to 1.6.0.8 2º Then compare both with "Winmerge" 3º Then upload different files to the new version. This way it will be fine ? To start, download from here your current version of PrestaShop Unzip to a folder Compare this to your downloaded local product files (I use beyond compare) now you know before upgrading (which you want to do on a test copy of your shop) which files have been modified. Then follow this guide by PrestaShop to upgrade.

bellini13
it really doesn't matter, the point is to compare what you have against the official release to determine what changes were made
