Can't change employee information - Invalid theme

Hi there! 

 

I've tried everything I know but I am at a loss. I am hoping that some of you out there might know the answer to my problem - any help would be gladly appreciated!

 

I recently updated to 1.6 but decided to downgrade to 1.5.4.1 again after figuring out that the theme my shop is using isn't quite ready for 1.6 yet.

 

Now, I was about to change the info on one of my registered employees one day in the "employee menu" in back office, when I discovered that I was unable to select the back office theme, the field simply wasn't there

 

As a result I am unable to change anything on existing employee accounts or create new ones, whenever I try to I get the message "Invalid theme".

 

I have attached a screenshot to show you.
