Help! email settings problem

I need some help with configuring prestashop to send emails.

First of all i want you to know that prestashop doesn't send emails using php function.

Second i used the settings provided by the hosting and it worked for some times and now when i try to change the settings, it says settings saved, but the password is blank for the email,

PHP ERROR : "Sending failed using mail() as PHP's default mail() function returned boolean FALSE."

The error that occurring is "Sender verify failed" which means that the software is not providing the username and password when trying to send.

When using SMTP

password is blank due to the security purposes :-)

after save - password is saved correctly in database, and then - after refresh you will see this field empty.
