babyewok
Is the send to a firend module still a weak spot for spam? A few years back it was causing horrendous problems and Prestochangeo (@tomerg) used to proivide a free version of the module with a captcha form. He no longer does so and I wondered if that was because there is better inbuilt spam protection in the send to a friend form itself? I had downloaded the free slidecaptcha module but it won't work with send ot a friend as it uses ajax. Also, how open to spam are the product comments and contact forms with 1.5.6.2? I personally don't uaually use captcha on my own contact forms as there is a certain amount of 'damage limitation' built into the form script itself and none have even been used by spam robots. Are the form scripts better coded now to prevent this kind of spam abuse? If not, can anyone recommend a free captcha module that will actually work with all the forms? babyewok
Is everyone just using this module and getting spammed then?!
vekia
hello at the moment this module use a bit different way to add comments. comment for appears as a result of AJAX call, bots/crawlers aren't so smart to run ajax calls :-)
babyewok
Oh OK, thanks for your reply. So as the send to a friend module uses AHAX, it means that the slidecaptcha doesn't work, but also means that it is less likely to be spammed anyway so should be OK without a captcha?
