Configuring SMTP in PS 1.6.0.5

I am trying to configure SMTP.

 

I have an email formatted as [email protected] but the email was registered with Google apps - basically it should work like Gmail but with the custom domain.com address.

 

The email itself works fine (when going through Google). But now I'm trying to use it for the store located at domain.com and can't get it to work.

 

This is the current SMTP config:
 

 

Mail domain name: pop.domain.com (have also tried domain.com)

SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com

email: [email protected]

password: email password

encryption: TLS (have also tried SSL)

port: 465 (have also tried 25, 51 and some others)

 

 

The error I get with the above configuration is:
 

 

Error: Please check your configuration

 

 

Any ideas?
