jamiedevine
We have a free shipping code that currently applies to all carriers. The customer is able to enter the code at the first step of the checkout, when they reach the carrier selection all of the options are free. We now want to change this so that the code only applies to specific carriers. I assumed that this would work in exactly the same way, except that when the customer reaches the carrier selection step only the carriers that the coupon applies to are free and the others are the normal price. This is not how it works though. Instead the customer is now prevented from entering the code until they have selected a carrier. This means in order to use this code they need to first complete the checkout process then go back to the first step and enter the code. This is very confusing and it's unlikely many customers will be able to work out how to do this. i don't understand why it works like this. It's very counter-intuitive for the customer to have to jump around the checkout steps, it should all be done in one flow. Surely you can't expect customers to jump through that many hoops? Is there any way we can get this working in the way that we want? So the customer should be able to enter the code at the first step, then when they get to the carrier selection step only the options that the coupon works with should be free and all others should be their normal price.
