Access Denied on Back office, but it isnt? help!

I have recently tried to upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6, it went bad and I have rolled back the server a couple of days and all is back..... Except, when I go to the back office I get a red banner saying 'Access Denied'

If I kill this banner off, I can do anything, nothing is denied (or appears nothing).

 

it is annoying the banner being there, neither do I get the back office home page anymore, again very annoying. What do I need to do to put it back as it was?

you see this banner on each back office page ? or only on dashboard? right after log in?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Its only on the bank office home page.

All the other back office pages (products, orders etc) are fine.

The back office home page only has the access denied banner, the page is otherwise empty (except the menus)

okay so can you please go to administration > permissions

and check your employee profile privileges for "dashboard" :-)

It says Super Admin (me) cannot be changed,

Admin all the ticks for dashboard are ticked.

you log in as an admin, right?

 

ps. you use some overrides for admin controllers?

Yes, I login as admin. There is only me uses the back office.

 

what happened was I tried to update to 1.6, It didn't work, I restored the 1.5 backup, It then told me I had to delete the Install folder.

(I remember doing this when I first installed prestashop). I deleted it as instructed. But I were still having issues, So I asked my server hosts to re-wind my server before I did the update.

My thoughts were the 1.6 installation added files / folders that the Backup couldn't see or overwrite, so if the whole server got restored it would remove 1.6 totally.

Everything but the 'Access Denied' did get fixed.
