imachine
btw. index page (homepage) is always "/" so you can't define rewritten url for it, Thats not true, in SEO&URL options, you can easily define index page as a different rewrite. The only thing is, it doesn't work. Why is it there then? It messes up my client interaction module (emails sent with coupons have a 404 link, because instead of using index, they use the rewriten index URL) If one can't use index rewrite, then why is there an option for it? Presta 1.6.0.6 Also, if one can't make it work any other way, i want to delete this URL rewrite so my emails get generated correctly and I don't lose clients. However, when I do that, my left column block disappears from the index page. Wtf. Vekia, can you help? It's frustrating.
vekia
Thats not true, in SEO&URL options, you can easily define index page as a different rewrite. i don't think so, take a look: rewritten url box is grayed out, so you can't alter default value. imachine
Come on Vekia, any ideas? Or anyone else? It'd scaring my customers away and I can't fix it any way that I think of - it simply doesn't work like described here.
vekia
perhaps on ipad it's not grayed out, but on PC it definitely is im more than convinced that it's not possible to change rewritten url for "index" (homepage)
imachine
I don't think it's an ipad thing. Besides, it doesn't matter - the problem lies else, namely, when I type in whatever in there, that rewrite doesn't work. And when I delete it from seo&links, my left column is gone from index page. Can you help me? I can give you admin access and you can verify that indeed on a PC you also can enter whatever info in that field.
