Adopting a theme that should work, please help :)

Recommended Posts

Hello users!

I've been looking on the forum for solution, but nothing works for me (or I haven't look good enough).

I have found a theme: http://catalogo-onlinersi.net/en/home/393-rose-girl-prestashop-template.html

Rose-girl, nice looking and hopefully easy to customize. I have uploaded it by ftp client, and manually added. The result was horrible (capture website file).

I have tried to use this guide: http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS15/Managing+Modules+and+Themes#ManagingModulesandThemes-Installingatheme but I couldn't find this addon, so I have used video that I have found on this forum which use probably the same addon but integrated in the theme configuration module. (bad configuration file) probably you all know this notification.

Video that I have used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRSNLYwp19I#t=77

How can I install this theme, or should I find another one?

Do you experts think that it will be easy to customize this theme? Top bar looks for me like flash so I won't be able to edit it on my own if there aren't implemented some solution in the theme configuration.

Thank you for any help and have a nice day! :)

@up so I have installed newest 1.5, theme is still messy and I loose the background. Actually right now it looks even worst. I don't know how to change theme to be compatible with 1.6, do you have any advice for me?

Hi, this theme looks more like 1.4. theme, it's probably based on the default theme for this version of Prestashop..

Compatibility is...well it's complicated. It means that you're using hooks and functions/variables that are made for that version.

See, the best way for you is what Alok said.

Install a version of Prestashop (be it 1.4,1.5. or 1.6.) and install a theme that is compatible with that version.

Otherwise, it will (almost certainly) always be messed up...
