How to remove H1 & H2 tags in theme template product pages?

Hello,

Apparently, the specific theme used in my website isn't enhanced for SEO. Somebody noticed that h1 & h2 tags are applied to some unimportant sentences such as "Send to a Friend". As a result, there are multiple h1 & h2 tags that are unnecessary and might not be great for google.

Is there any way to remove those unnecessary tags in all product pages without changing the font?

This is not an easy task but you would need to edit your product.tpl page. Choose what you want to change (i.e. H2 tags to <p> tags for example.) As far as the font. once you change the tags, you will need to edit the css file associated with the tags (usually default.css but your theme may be different)

Note: ALWAYS make a backup of any file you change so you can revert back to original in case of an error.

For example, based on the webpage mentioned above, what how should i edit the line "<h1 class="title clearfix">Send to a friend</h1>" to match the previous line?

I can't tell which of your css files contains the info you need to edit. I would first change the tags and see if the default fonts associated with them are acceptable. If they are not, ask your theme developer to tell you which css file contains the information you need to change. For isntance, your current h2 style is this:

h2 {
font-size: 20px;
line-height: 1.5;
margin-bottom: 12px;

You may want to change the font size to 24px; or 18 px; whatever size you want really.

Send to a friend is seen as h1 tag i thing. What happens if i just delete the h1 and leave it like that?

2nd important question:

I have been told keywords should appear in h1 or h2 tags for seo purposes and that it was ok to have many h2 tags. That's what i did for the short description list. Now what is the best seo practice for the short description list knowing that keywords are in it?

Strange - using google chrome on a pc - I only see one H1 tag and that is your product title. Although the code you listed does indeed say H1

Regarding #2

Design your page first for visitors, then for SEO

Ideally, the <h2> should be a sub-heading describing the <h1> and <h3> a further sub-heading describing <h2>

The short description can have BOLD keywords or Italic keywords - but ultimately let it be user friendly.

Give it a shot - you can always put it back OR replace it with a <p> tag but you should only have 1 <h1> tag per page so at least try the <p>

That's weird. I can't even see the h1 tag line we are talking about in the product.tpl. Could you please help me find it?

Thanks for sharing the Information of Header Tag. There are the six Tag Used H1 or H6.

H1 is also called the Heading Tag.

Yes. Though, I am not sure if the 3 warnings affect the issue, as it's showing the following message when i force compile:

We notice, nowadays, that the so called SEO experts are more self-proclaimed than anything else, but really don't know that much. As SEO is not really a science, nobody knows anything about it and clients who pay for SEO are the main victims. Fortunately, we don't hire SEO experts as mechanics for cars because I think everybody would get accidents!!!
