jimicus
Hello All I have tested my landing page on GT Metrix and it is showing that my images in Homeslider and theme configurator are being increased from 98.2 KB to 218Kb. This has happened to all images in Theme configurator and Home Slider and my front page is 2.22MB! I have already tried setting Use PNG only if the base image is in PNG format JPEG 80 png 7 trick http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/320953-is-there-a-way-to-disable-prestashop-image-optimisation/ and I couldnt find the line to edit out as suggested here, http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/322170-solved-image-sizes-in-theme-configurator/ Can anyone help, as this is making my site very slow to load, and is most likely wrecking my conversion rates!! Many Thanks in advance
dioniz
Try to set JPEG to 60 and see what happens That line doesn't exist in Theme Configurator v0.
jimicus
I have tried that and no change sadly. As this happens in both theme configurator and home slider is this a problem with the whole of prestashop itself? Thanks in advance
dioniz
I don't have that problem. I just tested image original size 224KB and with compression set to 80 i got slider image size 165KB I got PS 1.6.0.6 and slider v1.3.
jimicus
I have exactly the same versions but it is happening. GT metrix and pingdom clearly show that a 100KB file has become 218kb. Do you know where the common code dictating image compression is for all images. Perhaps there might be a problem there?
dioniz
Sorry i don't know that but if problem would be there it wouldn't work for me either i guess.
