Lucas_G
Hello guys, I am still stumbling to get friendly url working in 1.606 I did all the things: Let PS make a new htaccess file (which worked). Clear cache. Open page in new browser... The strange thing is that all pages load without problem, only when I try to open a product-detail page, the page is not found. For instance: In the frontend, when we look in this category: http://www.eenpassievoorboeken.nl/webwinkel/nl/21-velp there is a book called "Verborgen in Velp" It points to: http://www.eenpassievoorboeken.nl/webwinkel/nl/velp/8-verborgen-in-velp-9789081058209.html But it can't open it. It leads to a current 404 page. In the backend I see under SEO that this product will make this link: http://www.eenpassievoorboeken.nl/webwinkel/lang/8-verborgen-in-velp.html So it is clear why the link does not work... What is happening under the hood? I have left the SEO rule on the standard: {category:/}{id}-{rewrite}{-:ean13}.html It drives me mad. Any help very much appreciated! Lucas Hi Lucas, are you running some sort of cache module? Something is changing the url, and it seems related possibly to modification to serve static page. This is of course guess work. Only the embedded SEO function of PS 1.6.06 Strange, very strange... I would like to solve this before we go online with this shop.
El Patron
I sent message to DH42, to look at the url endings. He [spam-filter] at cache stuff, maybe he can help.
Dh42
See if this helps anything, in the SEO and urls page on the product url take out the ean13 in the product route. Then regenerate the urls by saving with friendly urls off, then save it again with them on. http://screencast.com/t/AAeziKXkpK

Then regenerate the urls by saving with friendly urls off, then save it again with them on. http://screencast.com/t/AAeziKXkpK Hi Dh42, I tried this, but there remains still a difference between the link at the frontend: http://www.eenpassievoorboeken.nl/webwinkel/nl/velp/8-verborgen-in-velp.html and the link mentioned in the backend: http://www.eenpassievoorboeken.nl/webwinkel/lang/8-verborgen-in-velp.html The difference between /nl/velp (where nl is the language, and velp is the category) and /lang/ What might cause it? There is another .htaccess in the root of the site. It is optimized for the joomla site that is present in the root...
Dh42
Can you try to disable the joomla htaccess and see if it is causing the issue real quick?
Lucas_G
Can you try to disable the joomla htaccess and see if it is causing the issue real quick? Yes, I disabled it (deleted it), but there's unfortunately no difference...
Lucas_G
Has anybody got a clue when looking at the strange difference between the SEO link shown in the backend and the frontend? Can't be the only instance of this happening, I guess? Edited June 6, 2014 by Lucas_G (see edit history)
Lucas_G
Could it be that the reason for this strange behaviour lies in the fact that I have several .htaccess on the server? One is in the root of the server (for a joomla site), and one resides in a submap (the root of the Prestashop site).

Dh42
This might be a pain, but if it were me I would clone the site to another server without joomla and see if the problem persisted. I had a client a while back that had joomla and we had to set up 2 cpanel accounts because it was overriding prestashop.
Lucas_G
Today, I was comparing this site and another Prestashop site (where the SEO function works without poblems), to see whether there were any different settings that might cause the problem. When I had made every setting the same, the problem still persisted. Then I noticed that the only remaining difference was the theme. In the well functioning site I use the default theme of 1.6.0.8, but in the problematic site I use the bookstore theme PRS020046. When I swithced that site to the defaullt theme,, the SEO function started to work again! I have sent a notice to the developer of the bookstore theme. That theme also involved some extra modules, so I hope he will be able to find the cause and correct it soon. Thank you all for your help sofar... I will keep you informed.
