PSfever.com
There will be always bugs. In everything. Prestashop is very complex nowadays and it's hard to implement new changes while still maintaing its old functionality. But you can not go wrong, both PS 1:6.0.6 and 1.5.6.2 are great. PSfever.com
I've been doing some tutorials and playing around with the newest 1.6.0.6 version and I have not came across any bugs so far. I would suggest you to go for the latest version and then when new version comes out, simply use the 1-click upgrade module to get rid of the bugs in the current version. PSfever.com
Well, the question now is, if the upgrade is really that necessary. What do you think that the benefits of upgrading to 1.6. will be? Do you have any custom functions in your store? How about first copying the website to let's say a subdomain and then trying if the 1-click upgrade will upgrade the site with no problems? PSfever.com
I'd say stay with your current store... If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Divyesh Prajapati
But what if client ask to upgrading it? In that case how to proceed ?
PSfever.com
As I said before: First try it on a copy of your current site. Then, if everything goes as planned, you can proceed to upgrading on the LIVE site. Not earlier, as this can damage your site and you don't want to lost client's data.. But ask your client first, why does he want to upgrade? Is it really necessary? Isn't it just the need of that feeling of having the latest software, but at the same time not being able to use it?
