goroton
Hi, I get a 404 error message - This page is not available by clicking on languages button and selecting any one of the both languages. I managed to reproduce that issue and I find out that the issue is alive always when the friendly url option is enabled. If disable the friendly url (preferences -> SEO and URL's -> Friendly Url) I never get 404 error message. What I have done so far to fix that issue but without any success:-Clear cash-smarty; cash and compil folders, clear browser cash. -I restored twice to older dates when the issue wasn't available, but it didn't work for me. - I played with the .htaccess files browsing and testing with some suggestions found in other similar topics in this forum, but no luck. I will appreciate any help! George Prestashop 1.
NemoPS
Can you check with your hosting company if mod_rewrite is properly configured on the server?
goroton
Hi Nemo1, thank you for your update. Yes, I have already checked this out. The mod_rewrite is properly configured on the server. The point is that the error appears just if the user decide to change the language from Bulgarian (which is the default one) to English and in reverse only at home page. If the user clicks initially somewhere else, anywhere else and then try to change the language the issue never appears...the issue can be re-produced only from the home page. I am not aware if it is allowed to publish my site here in case you want to check your self - www.mjewels.eu In case it is forbidden, please just let me know and I will delete the current post. Cheers, George
NemoPS
It seems like it's redirecting to http://www.mjewels.eu/bg/unique-handmade-jewels for example. What is that unique-handmade-jewels part referring to? Where did you set it up?
goroton
Hi Nemo1, yes it is redirecting to page index. I remember that I set the page title to 'Mjewels | Handmade Unique Jewels' in Preferences>SEO & URLS. Then at the META TAGS section I wrote in the Rewritten URL field: unique-handmade-jewels. Well while I was writing to you that message I played and deleted the Rewritten URL field: unique-handmade-jewels. I left it empty and now it is working great without any error since it is not re-directing to anywhere. Thank you so much Nemo1! It is piece of cake and it seems like a very simple solution but it took me a long, long time to troubleshoot without any success! Just a last question - since I left that Rewritten URL field empty, will this affect somehow on the SEO and the indexation? Thank you! NemoPS
Well if that page had been previously indexed, yes, but you can re-submit your sitemap to google webmaster tools nonetheless, it might take a while before it's re-index but it's no big deal really (unless it's been indexed for years like that)
goroton
Thanks a lot Nemo1 for your clarifications and for your help I am not aware about the rules of the forum but we can close that topic with status "solved". If I am supposed to do that, please just let me know. Thank you once again! Take care, Georgi
