Upgrade 1.0.0.8 to latest version

Hi all

Trying to upgrade from 1.0.0.8 (I know this is old... but no problems so far).

I already read major threads regarding this, but after trying as much as I can the upgrade process ALWAYS hangs on Step 3 (Next after showing System and permissions)

Anyone could help!

Php 5.2.0
Mysql 5.0.27
